Whether you’re new to squash and want to learn the basics, or a more advanced player wanting to improve your technique there’s something for you.

The club provides three coaching sessions, junior coaching, ladies coaching and adult coaching.

All coaching is provided by the club, with people attending the sessions only having to pay for the lights. For juniors, this is £2 per session per child, for adults it will be as much as is needed to pay for the lights for the required time.

The coaches:

Jeff Graham – Level 2 ESR squash coach with experience of running the sessions for the last few years

Heather Graham – Level 2 ESR squash coach and Durham and Cleveland ladies county captain

Paul Davies – Level 1 ESR coach, Durham and Cleveland men’s county player, and Yarm number 1

The coaching sessions are as follows:

Every Sunday morning from September to May from 9.45. Available for all juniors of all abilities. All three coaches run these sessions, with at least two coaches at each session.

Every Tuesday from September to May, from 6.30pm. For ladies of ages and abilities to play squash, get fit and improve your game in a fun and friendly environment. Run predominantly by Paul, with the other coaches stepping to cover team match clashes.

Every Thursday from September to May from 6.30pm. This is a brand new session for adult members that runs before club night. Paul takes group sessions from 6.30-7.30, and then stays on for another hour for a “play the coach” session. This gives you the opportunity to get some 1-1 coaching to work on whatever aspect of your game you feel needs some help. All you need to do is pay for the lights. You can then stay on and put your new skills in to practice at club night!
